East Africa and Arabia
From the mountainous eastern half of the African continent of the Arabian Peninsula come some of the worlds greatest coffees. Ethiopia produces some of the very unique and interesting coffees in the world. The three main regions were Ethiopian coffee originate are Harrar, Gimbi and Sidamo. Ethiopian Harrar coffee beans in small plantations in the eastern part of the country.
Arabian Coffee
They are dry processed and named as longberry, shortberry and peaberry. Ghimbi coffee beans and Yirgacheffe coffee beans are the washed coffees of Ethiopia and has a longer lasting body than the Harrar coffees. Tanzania arabica coffee’s are grown on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and sometimes Moshi or Arusha. Tanzania coffee is defined as sharp winey acidity which is typical for Arabia and African coffee.

In Kenya coffee is grown from the foot of Mount Kenya stretching all the way to the south and also smaller growing region on the slopes of Mount Elgon—bordering Uganda and Kenya. Kenya coffee is both balanced and the most coffee origins.

Situated in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa at the headwater of the Nile is Uganda, which robusta coffee originated. Uganda also produce wet-process arabica coffee but only grown in small farms by villagers. Uganda accounts 75 percent for the country’s coffee bean export employing 80 percent of its rural workers.

Almost all Yemen coffee come from ancient coffee variety of arabica grown exceptionally in Eastern Ethiopia. All Yemen coffee have been processed and they have been doing them in centuries.
